Navigating through a very chaotic month in Chicago has forced me to tap back into resilience mode; saying no more, speaking my truth, asking for more, taking a long (or short) pause, and understanding we are only as good as how we show up for ourselves. My friends are my lifeline, my love life, my hype squad, and oftentimes my therapist, and I want to reciprocate that fully. Sometimes, I go overboard like a mama bear; it’s who I am. While we want to solve the world’s problems, the exhaustion, intention, and depletion can be very real. I read an article recently that said a person only needs 12 minutes of vent time to reset their cortisol levels; obviously, I’m no medical professional, but I think anytime we can feel seen and heard plants self-awareness & addresses a temporary feeling and not a personality flaw. In closing, share a song, water your succulents, text a friend, drink a big glass of lemon water, and know that everything will be okay because you are absolute magic and there is no one else like you. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. And, if you need me, I absolutely have 12 minutes for you. Cheers, bebes!
